Sustainability

Our performance in sustainability expresses our purpose: transforming land and lives.

• We operate with good agricultural practices and we invest in research to obtain safe and healthy fruit.
• We coexist in harmony with the ecosystem that is our home, and we are the leaders of a recognized reforestation program.
• We create a high social impact through mass employment and social initiatives for the communities of Lambayeque and the north of Peru.

Message from our Co-Founder and Executive Chairman

To our stakeholders:
For the second consecutive year, we are very pleased to present the sustainability report of
the companies, Agrovision Peru and Arena Verde, and to present the first sustainability report of the newly incorporated, Agrovision Mexico, belonging to Agro Vision Corp. This report uses the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) methodology.

This document sets out the goals and achievements realized from January 1 until December 31, 2021, with respect to our economic, social, environmental, and corporate governance performance. These goals reflect our foundational principle, “Transforming land, Transforming lives,” which is aligned with our management of the Company and our firm commitment to ten of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We began the year 2021 with a great corporate milestone: the operations of Agrovision Mexico began. Headquartered in the state of Jalisco, our 79 hectares of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries generate employment for more than 240 people.

In Peru, with the companies, Agrovision Peru and Arena Verde, we grew our sales by 47%, breaking our 2020 annual growth rate of 50%. Additionally, we consolidated our strong competitive positioning in the export category, due to our vertical integration, advanced genetics, and our commitment to
more varied and quality-assured products.

Regarding environmental management, we are proud to have obtained the Alliance Water Stewardship (AWS) international certification for our companies, Agrovision Peru and Arena Verde, which exemplifies the high standards we have for the efficient management and protection of water
resources. This is particularly impactful in the Lambayeque region, where clean water
access is otherwise limited.

We assumed an active role in the conservation of biodiversity and reserve areas in the Lambayeque region to lead by example in the protection of natural ecosystems. As a result, in 2021, we were awarded 2nd place in the Sustainable Production subcategory, belonging to the Biodiversity category of the renowned Green Awards, one of the most relevant sustainability festivals in the world.

Regarding social management, we generated more than 15,000 local jobs, of which 45% are filled by women. Achieving a nearly 50% female work force promotes gender equity and improves the living conditions of the people of Morrope and Olmos in the Lambayeque region of Peru.

Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we strengthened our programs, Sowing Hope and Sowing Health, in favor of the people of Olmos and Morrope, by providing medicines and strengthening vaccination campaigns within the Lambayeque health network to offer a more comprehensive scope of services.

I would like to end by thanking each of Agrovision’s collaborators from the Peru and Mexico operations, because their hard work and commitment make it possible to maintain our corporate philosophy in which joint growth among the Company, the social environment, and the land that shelters us and provides top quality superfruits is our pillar. I would also like to extend my gratitude to our global customers and consumers for the trust placed in us and for continuing to choose the quality that characterizes Agrovision.

(Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation, 2021).

+15,000 decent jobs supporting the economic revitalization of the Lambayeque region and the improved living conditions of its people.

Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations Organization (UNO) proposes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) so that States, civil society and companies commit to the reduction in poverty, inequalities and injustices on a global level by 2030.

At Agro Vision we maintain our commitment to 10 SDG, of which the following are priority objectives linked to our purpose -transforming land and lives- identifying opportunities to contribute to the development of people, the environment and our areas of influence.

Awards and recognitions

We earned 2nd place (out of 500 finalists) with our “Arena Verde, Biodiversity and Conservation” initiative of the Green Awards in the subcategory, Sustainable Production, belonging to the Economy category.

ALLIANCE for WATER STEWARDSHIP

As main tools, we have the Water Management Plans for Agrovision Peru S.A.C. and Arena Verde S.A.C. designed in association with the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification obtained by both entities in 2021. These certifications allowed us to evaluate our management of water resources and the impacts we have on our local communities and natural resources.
