Steve Magami

Co-Founder and Executive Chairman

Mr. Magami has led a career building companies and developing projects. He has generational roots in agriculture and has been active in agri-business, land acquisition, water, and infrastructure in Peru since 2007 when he co-founded his first Peruvian company (sold to a $3 billion private equity firm and later to British Petroleum). Mr. Magami previously served as a Principal of Lovell Minnick Partners, the private equity arm of Putnam Lovell Jefferies, responsible for $1 billion in Private Equity partnerships focusing on executing buyouts of middle-market financial services companies. Mr. Magami has served on the boards of numerous private equity, hedge fund, and venture capital-backed companies.

Stephen Kaplan

Mr. Kaplan was a Co-Founder of Oaktree Capital Management and the former head of Oaktree’s private equity group. Upon his retirement from Oaktree in 2017, he formed Nalpak Capital, a family office focused on a broad array of investments. Mr Kaplan is the Co-Chairman and lead owner of DC United in the MLS and a co-owner of Swansea City in the English Championship. He was formerly a minority owner and Vice-Chairman of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. Before joining Oaktree at its inception in 1995, he served as a Managing Director of TCW and as a Portfolio Manager in the TCW Special Credits Group. Prior to joining TCW in 1993, Mr. Kaplan was a Partner with the law firm, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Mr. Kaplan serves on the boards of several private and public companies. In addition, he currently is on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations including the LA 84 Foundation, UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Foundation, and the New York University School of Law Foundation.

Iyad Duwaji

Mr. Duwaji is an entrepreneur with a significant track record internationally in turnarounds and growth strategies. Formerly, he was the CEO of SHUAA Capital, a publicly listed company in Dubai. Under his leadership, SHUAA grew by 26 fold over 14 years and was awarded Best Equity House in the UAE by Euromoney for three consecutive years. Mr. Duwaji serves as a Director of other companies and is currently focused on the growing demand for food and AgTech as an investment theme.

Ben Nickoll

Mr. Nickoll is the Managing Partner of El Faro Partners, a family office focused on Lending, Real Estate, Private Equity, Agriculture, and Distressed Securities. He is the former Chief Investment Officer of Ore Hill Partners, an event-driven hedge fund he co-founded in 2002 and later sold to the Man Group. Mr. Nickoll previously ran High Yield Trading at both Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley.

Marc Aron

Mr. Aron has over 20 years of experience in commodity trading, formerly with Credit Suisse, Drexel, Mitsui, and AIG. Mr. Aron’s family office oversees a diversified portfolio of real estate, venture capital, and private equity investments.

Kerry Assil

Dr. Assil is the head of a resources and real asset-focused family office investment group with an agriculture and real estate focus. He is a world-renowned ophthalmologist, having invented and pioneered several surgical procedures and therapeutic technologies. He serves as the Medical Director and CEO of the Assil Eye Institute and is a founding partner of the medical network, which has over 34 LASIK centers across four countries.

Allan Amico

Mr. Amico worked at WP Global Partners from 2014 to 2017, rejoining the firm in 2023. He is actively involved in the sourcing, investment diligence, and management of private equity and debt investments.

Prior to rejoining WP Global, Mr. Amico founded and ran a technology startup, consulted in a business development capacity for the WP Global portfolio company Prevenio, and worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in investment banking.
